Achtung! buys another six hectares of land for forest development

We have bought another six hectares of land and will work with Wohllebens Waldakademie to convert it into forest. The land is located in Nordhastedt, near Heide, and was previously used for agriculture. It is equivalent in size to 8 and a half football fields. This land will be planted with mixed woodland.

Last year, we purchased three hectares at Braak, near Hamburg. On the advice of Wohllebens Waldakademie, we planted roughly 12,000 saplings there. Since December 2021, hornbeams, Norway maples, oaks and other tree species have been growing on the land. Following this latest purchase, we will be afforesting a total of nine hectares.

Within our agency family, we invest 10% of our annual profits each year to purchase and afforest land that was previously used for agriculture. Mirko Kaminski, Achtung! CEO: “We are keeping this promise and in this way – together with our entire team – making our small contribution to climate protection and biodiversity.”

Josef Eichler, Wohllebens Waldakademie: “We welcome initiatives such as this one that Achtung! has undertaken. Forests are a crucial element in the fight against climate change. Trees have a cooling effect, they absorb carbon dioxide, release oxygen, lead to more rain and protect biodiversity.”
